Continuing Education Contact Hours

The APNA 14th Annual Clinical Psychopharmacology Institute will offer up to 20.5 total contact hours.

Continuing nursing education contact hours are awarded based on the number of sessions attended and evaluations completed. To receive full credit for a session, you must attend the entire session and complete its evaluation online. The content of this CNE activity pertains to pharmacology. Because states' requirements may vary, contact your Board of Nursing for more information.

The American Psychiatric Nurses Association is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

2016 Conference Educational Learning Objectives

  1. Relate new discoveries in psychopharmacology and neuroscience to the nursing practice of caring for persons with complex psychiatric disorders across the lifespan.

  2. Review evidence-based pharmacologic approaches for persons with comorbid substance use and psychiatric illness across the lifespan.

  3. Discuss integrative treatments relevant to the continuum of wellness and recovery in addressing clinical psychopharmacological issues.

Learning With Options

  • Choose from 3 options to download session handouts in the format that best fits your needs: pdfs in 6 slides per page, 2 slides per page, or 1 slide per page in full color.
  • Download the new mobile app to your device for on-the-go access to the schedule and maps, real-time updates and announcements, and even messaging with fellow attendees.
  • Use the new compact program book to navigate the conference – notes pages included!

Listen In-Person & Online Afterwards
You have the option to attend and earn CE for the sessions in person or online afterwards – or a mix of both! Recordings of sessions will be available online in the APNA eLearning Center 1-2 months after the conference. Access to these session podcasts is included in your registration. Attendees will be able to listen to each podcast directly on the site, or download the mp3 to listen to the session whenever (and wherever) desired. If a particular session was missed on-site, attendees will then be able to come back to their account on the eLearning Center to enter the CE Certificate code and complete the post test and evaluation. The CE Certificate for each session will be generated with the attendee's name and address information already included!

Online Evaluations

Evaluations for the APNA 14th Annual Clinical Psychopharmacology Institute must be entered online in order to earn contact hours. You'll be able to complete them in real-time as you go (if you have an internet connection through your smartphone, tablet, or laptop service provider), in your hotel room at the end of the day (high speed internet access available for purchase at the Hyatt), at the Evaluations Stations on-site (2 computers will be available near Registration throughout the conference), or at home after the conference. You can jot down your responses in your program book as you attend sessions, then log in at your convenience to complete the evaluations online. Once you finish completing evaluations for the sessions you've attended, you'll then complete the Overall Evaluation, which will unlock your CE Certificate. Press "Post Final Credits & Create Certificate", and your CE Certificate will be pre-populated with your information and contact hours earned. You can have it emailed to your inbox, save a pdf version to your computer, or print it right then (printers will not be available at the on-site evaluations stations).  Evaluation Deadline: July 25, 2016
