President's Message: What We Accomplish by Doing
“It is wonderful how much may be done, if we are always doing.” Thomas Jefferson
This sizzling summer is flying by! On the heels of Independence Day, sharing a quote from a founding father seems appropriate and certainly relevant to us here at APNA. APNA has absolutely been “doing” - as usual, we are busy, busy, busy. Here is a little bit about what your association has been up to this summer: ()
Member Profile: Michelle Laraia, PhD, PMHNP
Nationally there has been an increasing focus on integrated care, yet there is no widely recognized set of competencies for psychiatric mental health providers and primary care providers on this approach. APNA member Michelle Laraia, PhD, PMHNP, working as a consultant for the Annapolis Coalition on the Behavioral Health Workforce, is part of a core team of consultants who are managing an important Center for Integrated Health Solutions initiative which aims to rectify this gap.
