Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner or Clinical Nurse Specialist

QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and NP or CNS program with current Minnesota RN license and certification or eligibility to be certified as a Psychiatric NP or CNS. The applicant should have successful work experience in psychiatry, Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) competency and prescriptive authority in the State of Minnesota.

Clinical Nurse Specialist - Psychiatry

Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN is seeking Certified Clinical Nurse Specialists to work collaboratively to improve the quality of patient care and promote desired patient outcomes in Rochester and select Mayo Health System locations. The CNS functions as a leader within the three spheres of influence (Patient/Client, Nurses and Nursing Practice, Organization/System), and is an active participant in the collaborative practice framework.

Qualifications include a Masters Degree with a major in nursing with a clinical nurse specialist focus, and a current RN license to practice in Minnesota. Students in a Master’s Degree program with a major in nursing with a clinical nurse specialist focus must be within 60 days of graduation. Five years of successful work experience in nursing with two years in the specialty area preferred. Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) competency is required and experience as a CNS preferred. Clinical Nurse Specialist certification in designated specialty by a nationally recognized body deemed acceptable by the Minnesota State Board of Nursing or ability to attain certification within 60 days of date the position is offered.

Instructor, Nursing

The joint department of nursing at College of Saint Benedict/Saint John's University is accepting applications for a full time, term nursing instructor to begin fall 2013.  Expertise is sought in mental health nursing.  Responsibilities for this full-time position include clinical and classroom instruction, academic advising, scholarship, and involvement in department and college governance commensurate with contract. Teaching in the common curriculum and a commitment to undergraduate research is expected. A master's degree in nursing is required; a doctoral degree in nursing or a related field is preferred.  Previous baccalaureate teaching experience and recent clinical experience are desirable.  Must hold, or be eligible for, unencumbered professional nurse licensure in Minnesota.

Saint John's University, a liberal arts college for men, and the College of St. Benedict, a liberal arts college for women, are located four miles apart in Central Minnesota just outside St. Cloud and 70 miles from Minneapolis.  Both are Catholic colleges in the Benedictine tradition. Together, the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John’s University offer a common undergraduate curriculum, identical degree requirements, and a single academic calendar. The colleges offer the distinct benefit of two nationally recognized Catholic, undergraduate institutions and one exceptional education.
