Chapter Goals

HCAPNA was chartered in 1997. Our purpose is to provide a venue for the growth and development of leaders that promotes quality mental health nursing care and maintains the integrity and value of psychiatric mental health nursing practice. HCAPNA has established liaisons with the Mental Health Association - Hawai'i and the Hawai'i Nurses Association's Nursing Organization Liaison Forum. Members are active in clinical practice, education, administration and public policy.

Membership

HCAPNA is a member organization for generalist and advanced practice psychiatric registered nurses in the state of Hawaii. Our Board of Directors includes Directors-at-Large who represent the neighbor islands and our major educational institutions (University of Hawaii at Manoa and Hawaii Pacific University). We encourage mentoring of undergraduate and graduate psychiatric nursing students.
