About the Chapter

The Indiana Chapter of the American Psychiatric Nurses' Association (APNA-IN) represents psychiatric mental health nurses throughout Indiana and is affiliated with our parent organization, APNA. As a result of Psychiatric Nursing voices throughout Indiana, ICAPNA was chartered in New Orleans during the annual national APNA convention in Oct. 1997. The IN chapter then went on to become the winner of the Innovative Chapter Award in 1998.

Any APNA member who resides in Indiana is automatically a member of the Indiana Chapter. If you are interested in joining or renewing your membership, please see the Membership tab on APNA’s home page for more information about the application process and dues.

Dementia Survey

To further understand the issues related to dementia screening, the Fort Wayne Medical Education Program (Family Medicine Residency) and the Alzheimer's Association Greater Indiana Chapter have partnered to conduct a research study.  This research study is using a Survey Monkey questionnaire to further examine what barriers medical providers face when screening for dementia in at-risk populations.  The results of this study will be used to help develop training and provide information for medical providers for dementia screening.  Please forward survey to your colleagues, peers, medical groups, etc to maximize sample size.
