Chapter Goals
The Kentucky Chapter received its charter on November 3, 2005 at the annual meeting of APNA in Nashville, TN. There were 30 KY members in attendance. The KY Chapter represents APNA members throughout the state. From the time the chapter development was initiated until the charter was received APNA KY members grew from 33 to 66. All regions of the state are represented. All levels of practice and all practice areas are involved.
- To unify and strengthen psychiatric nursing in KY
- To promote safe, effective and accessible mental health care in KY.
- Promote psychiatric nursing to students, other nurses and health professionals and the public.
Membership
All psychiatric-mental health nurses in Kentucky are eligible to become members of APNA. There is not additional cost beyond APNA membership fee to be a member of APNA KY Chapter. Our hope is that all Kentucky psychiatric nurses will make a difference through the work of APNA KY Chapter.
Events
APNA 24th Annual Conference
October 13-16, 2010
The National Conference is approaching and registration is open. This will be a wonderful opportunity for learning, sharing, networking and even some fun! Because the National Conference is in Louisville this year, the Kentucky Chapter will not have a separate fall conference. If you have volunteered to help with the upcoming National Conference, you will be contacted soon. Thanks to all who expressed interest in assisting with this exciting event! I’m looking forward to seeing everyone in October!
