I'm interested in representing the Southern District because of my concern for helping individuals with psychiatric disorders. The psychiatric and mental health nurse role in practice and education includes a voice in policies at the state and national level. Our professional organization, APNA, is a vehicle to make policy changes. I've taught in the psychiatric and mental health nurse practitioner program at the University of Southern Mississippi for the last three years which has increased my awareness of care issues that patients and advance practice nurses face in southern Mississippi and the south nationally.
I have been a member for a good while and currently am working as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in a variety of settings. Also am the Program Director of a newly opening GeriPsych Unit in our area. Would like to be a representative for our organization.
I recently graduated from the University Medical Center with a psychiatric nurse practitioner degree. I am excited about the recent revitalization of this chapter. I am dedicated to seeing our chapter grow and to support APNA's goal for our chapter to become the unified voice of psychiatric mental health nursing in our state. Though I reside in Madison, MS, I am willing to do what is necessary to enhance regional involvement in the Southern District. I currently serve on the Membership Engagement committee in Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society and am looking forward to utilizing the skills and knowledge that I have acquired to increase the involvement of the members of the MS APNA chapter.
Seeking entry position for participation state and AAPNA group. RNBSN with 16 years nursing experience. Currently, 2 years experience in mental health nursing. Willing to make commitment to the organization as effort toward personal professional development.
I have been a nurse practitioner since 1975 and have a variety of experience from obstetrics to gerontonlogy. I am currently working on a post-masters certificate as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner and Doctorate of Nursing Practice. I have an earned Ph. D. since 1996. The variety of work experience an education enables me to be able to see both viewpoints. I am objective and rarely allow emotions to interfere with making fair decisions. I strive to make decisions that benefits everyone. I am interesting in contributing to the advancement of nurses and advanced practice nurses. I work well with other disciplines and strive to inform others about the contributions that all nurses make to the discipline.
