2011 APNA Education and Provider Unit Report
Post pilot content from 2010 APNA Annual Conference: Seclusion and Restraint Workgroup- continued to work on the One Hour Face to Face Assessment.
- A webinar “Key Elements of a Face to Face Assessment” was completed in the spring, 2011 by with Marlene Nadler-Moodie as the Presenter.
- In process of recording the workgroups second part- “Case studies and An Interactive Assessment Guide for Key Elements in the One Hour Face to Face Assessment”
- New learning content in the form of podcasts have been recorded for 4 PMHRN basic skills- Mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Conflict Resolution.
- Plan for 15 more podcasts to be recorded over the next 6 months

- 87 active webinars provided from August 2010 thru July 31,2011 (.5 to 1.5 contact hours)
- 4627 participants accessed the webinars
- 171.80 contact hours offered to members from various areas
- Annual Conference - 27.5 contact hours
- Chapter Activities - 36.25 contact hours
- Webinars offered 83.8 contact hours (August 2010 thru July 31, 2011)
APNA is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
Current ANCC accreditation is through November 30, 2013.
All content from APNA Annual Conference and Clinical Psychopharmacology Institute presentations is reviewed and evaluated for its ability to meet continuing nursing education standards and for APNA online education. In keeping with continuing nursing education standards and in order to maintain high quality educational programming, the APNA Provider Unit will seek member experts to review all eLearning content. Members will be compensated with free online education for the review time volunteered.
APNA education staff, Provider Unit and committee members will continue to evaluate all APNA educational programs and will use member evaluations and feedback in the development of future educational programming.
