Jane LeVieux receives Excellence in Dallas Nursing Award
D Magazine partnered with the Texas Health Council to recognize local nurses for excellence, and awarded Jane LeVieux, PhD, LPC-S, RN with the Excellence in Dallas Nursing Award in the Psychiatric Nursing category. LeVieux is a psychiatric consult liaison nurse at Children’s Medical Center of Dallas. From the announcement in D Magazine: "She led a team to survey the hospital’s clinicians and found that though they were tolerant caring for patients with underlying psychiatric illness, they weren’t necessarily comfortable with it. 'There’s such a stigma about having a mental health issue,' Le Vieux says, 'and helping people realize it isn’t any different than if you had diabetes or cancer has enabled them to be more compassionate.'"(http://www.dmagazine.com/Home/D_Magazine/2012/March/Excellence_in_Dallas_Nursing.aspx)
