2026 JAPNA Manuscript Development Group
A Message from JAPNA Editor-in-Chief Michelle Decoux Hampton
Happy New Year, APNA members!
I’m happy to share that we had a successful first year for our Journal of the American Psychiatric Nurses Association (JAPNA) manuscript development group, with one paper that is close to publication and 5 that are nearing submission for peer review. To continue this success, we’re now recruiting a new group for 2026.
Consider applying for the 2026 JAPNA Manuscript Development Group if you:
- Have recently completed a review, discussion paper, research, or QI project or paper draft (partial or full draft) that aligns with psychiatric-mental health nursing practice, policy, or education (or anything with the journal’s aims and scope AND
- Have dedicated time for submission of drafts and revisions to prepare for submission to the journal
How the JAPNA Manuscript Development Group Works
You will work with the Editor (and/or an accountability partner within the group) to work on completing a draft of your work, receiving feedback from the Editor re: readiness for submission, and finally, submitting the manuscript for publication to JAPNA. In addition to individualized feedback on your manuscript, you will have access to the Editor twice per month at scheduled Office Hours sessions.
If this sounds like it would be beneficial to you, sign up here by February 15!

Or, if you’d like to drop in and get some quick feedback on your work, RSVP for my monthly office hours.
I look forward to connecting with you!
