You can join online as a regular, affiliate, international, retired, or student member (full-time). A 1-year monthly payment option ($12.50/month) is available for regular members.

Log in to the member portal and go to My Membership to renew! If you are renewing as a student member, you will need to submit verification of your current full-time enrollment status.

Student Membership Application Process

The discounted student membership rate is available when you are a full-time student in a nursing degree program and have completed the steps below.

Student Membership Details

Student membership is for members who are engaged in full-time study in a nursing degree program and show evidence of full-time student status. (Evidence of being a student in good standing does not validate full-time status.)

Once you have submitted your materials, APNA staff will review your application materials and then activate your membership. Student membership renewal requires  submission of updated verification from your nursing program.

Student members may not seek election to the Board but may serve on committees, councils, and task forces. Student members who are registered nurses may vote.

Student Membership Application & Verification

You will need to provide contact information for your program director and a document on your school letterhead, or an email from your program director or school registrar saved as a pdf. This document MUST include:

  • Verification that you are enrolled in your program full-time. Please note: Stating that a student is in good standing does not verify full time status.
  • Name of your nursing degree program
  • Your intended graduation date

To apply for student membership, click the link below to create an account and get started! You will select the “Explore Additional Memberships” option once you have created your account and then follow the steps to fill out your membership form and submit your verification of full-time nursing student status. Remember, the document must explicitly state that you are a full-time student in your program. A document that states you are a student in good standing, for example, will not meet this requirement.

APNA staff will then confirm your documents and activate your membership.
