About the Chapter
HCAPNA was chartered in 1997. Our purpose is to provide a venue for the growth and development of leaders that promotes quality mental health nursing care and maintains the integrity and value of psychiatric mental health nursing practice. HCAPNA has established liaisons with the Mental Health Association - Hawai'i and the Hawai'i Nurses Association's Nursing Organization Liaison Forum. Members are active in clinical practice, education, administration and public policy.
HCAPNA is a member organization for generalist and advanced practice psychiatric registered nurses in the state of Hawaii. Our Board of Directors includes Directors-at-Large who represent the neighbor islands and our major educational institutions (University of Hawaii at Manoa and Hawaii Pacific University). We encourage mentoring of undergraduate and graduate psychiatric nursing students.
Any APNA member who resides in Hawaii may become a member of the Hawaii Chapter. At present, there are no chapter dues. If you are interested in joining or renewing your membership, please see the Membership tab on APNA’s home page for more information about the application process and dues.
After joining, contact the chapter to have your name and address added to our roster/mailing list. Contacting the Chapter this way will avoid any delays in your name being added to our roster, so you will not miss out on any of our program notices or other mailings.
