It is the mission of the APNA Administrative Council to facilitate collaboration and communication among psychiatric nurse administrators, to serve as a clinical resource in achieving shared goals, and to assist in the use of evidence-based practices and innovative systems for exceptional patient care.
The APNA Administrative Council will serve as an association of psychiatric nurse administrators in providing support, clinical resources, and communications in order to build a vibrant coalition of leadership, guidance and partnership.
- To provide Psychiatric Nurses in a leadership position the opportunity to share: information, best practices and mentor one another.
- To provide the opportunity for leadership in Psychiatric Nursing to network and impact legislative and key practice issues in collaboration with other councils and APNA leadership.
The Administrative Council reviewed the American Nurses Association's Draft Principles for Nurse Staffing. Their feedback was submitted to the ANA on November 8th, 2011.
