APNA Award for Excellence in Research & Scholarship
DESCRIPTION
The APNA Award for Excellence in Research & Scholarship honors an APNA member who has made significant contributions in psychiatric-mental health nursing scholarship through the generation, translation, dissemination, or implementation of scientific knowledge and research. This award recognizes excellence in research, evidence-based practice (EBP), and/or quality improvement (QI) efforts that advance psychiatric-mental health nursing. The individual must have been a member of APNA for at least two years.
CRITERIA
- Has meaningfully impacted the field through leading research, securing funding, mentoring, translating evidence into practice, or scholarly dissemination.
- Generates or implements new scientific knowledge that advances psychiatric-mental health nursing through addressing an important question, evidence gap, or population need relevant to PMH nursing and the population served.
- Disseminates research and scholarship through presentation(s) at conference(s) or publication(s) in peer-reviewed journals.
- Mentors colleagues or students in the development, refinement, or advancement of research or scholarship.
