Ann M. Wilkinson Nurse Psychotherapist Award

Ann Wilkinson was a nurse psychotherapist, former president of the APNA California Chapter, and a dedicated advocate for psychiatric nursing over many years. She was a mentor to many, and she brought thoughtful awareness and insight to her clients. After her passing, the Ann Wilkinson Award was set up by her good friends and fellow California nurses, as well as her family to honor her commitment to the role of the nurse psychotherapist.  Learn more about the award or donate now.

Advocacy
Bright Spot: NAMI California

NAMI California not only led the charge to get July recognized as Bebe Moore Campbell National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month in the state of California, but had 74 of the 80 Assembly members cosign onto the resolution. Six Assembly members also spoke compellingly in support of the resolution and the need for mental health services in diverse communities.

Watch the video of the Assembly members speaking about the importance of this resolution.
