Vision
The Council for Mental Health Advocacy (CMHA) is the conduit for monitoring legislative, regulatory and policy matters affecting mental health. The Council works to inform PMH nurses about these issues and help coordinate organizational responses.
Goals
- Identify and monitor policy that impacts mental health and psychiatric-mental health nursing at the local and national level.
- Make recommendations to the board of directors regarding policy that may impact psychiatric-mental health nursing.
- Educate members and identify resources that support grassroots advocacy at the local and national levels.
Structure
A chair and associate chair reporting to the Board of Directors. A Steering Committee provides essential support and an Advisory Panel shares information and feedback from the association regarding advocacy topics.
