Volunteer Call: APNA Workforce Violence Task Force

The APNA Board of Directors has established the APNA Workplace Violence Task Force, and you’re invited to apply to join.
This task force, led by Linda Beeber, PhD, PMHCNS-BC, FAAN and Kristen Kichefski, DNP, MBA, RN, PMH-BC, NEA-BC, will help develop a resource of best practices for care of workplace teams following incidents of violence. The group will meet periodically over the course of one year or so, with members collaborating online and in virtual meetings.
If you have expertise in workplace violence prevention, no matter your setting or level of practice, please fill out this form by April 2 to be considered as a task force member.
Charge
This task force will develop a resource that shares the best practices for care of staff and workplace teams following incidents of violence.
Further Guidance
- Root the document in the Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice
- Ensure a broad focus that includes concepts such as workplace enrichment and prevention.
- Consider incorporating the following APNA resources:
- Organize the document using a consistent and actionable framework.
