October 29, 2021, APNA signed onto a nursing group letter to the Senate urging passage of the Effective Suicide Screening and Assessment in the Emergency Department Act. This legislation creates a program to assist hospital emergency departments in developing protocols for identifying and treating patients who are at risk for suicide.
