Call for Papers – JAPNA special Workplace Violence Issue

A special issue is being planned for the Journal of the American Psychiatric Nurses Association (JAPNA) around the topic of “Workplace Violence.” Papers are invited that explore the concept of workplace violence and the related best nursing practices. Accepted submissions might involve the following topics:

  • Conceptual definitions of workplace violence
  • Data-based studies of causes of workplace violence
  • Relationship of health inequities to violence in care settings
  • Examination of factors influencing violence in settings in which nurses practice
  • Discussion papers that explore the societal/disciplinary influences that increase workplace violence
  • Creative and innovative Interventions aimed at preventing workplace violence
  • Reviews of best practices to ameliorate workplace violence
  • Influence of substance use disorders on violence in the workplace
  • Special populations such as children, adolescents, or individuals with cognitive disabilities

Papers are due on December 1, 2024 and must adhere to JAPNA Submission Guidelines.
