My PMH Nurse Luminary is…
Paula Bird

My PMH Nurse Luminary demonstrates wisdom and/or vision in…
Leading a health system’s behavioral health service line. She has been able to leverage data to support added services for our community to ensure that persons needing services have the right level of care either currently available or available in the future. She is an excellent collaborator while always putting the patient first.

My PMH Nurse Luminary embodies the spirit of psychiatric-mental health nursing because they…
She always leads by example and puts the patient first. When there is a perceived barrier, she empowers the nursing team to make decisions while at the same time she guides and educates the team to ensure that decisions are patient centered. She is an advocate for safety of both patients and team members and is active at the local and state levels to ensure those voices are heard.

The PMH nurses who would most benefit from my PMH Nurse Luminary’s wisdom are…
New graduate nurses, nurses who want to be active in legislative changes, and PMH nurses who want to be a nurse executive. She is an excellent leader who can share operational, financial, and clinical expertise.
